Summa Elnonensis

late 1160s

Alternative Names

Biography/Description

A French commentary on Gratian’s treatment of procedure (C.2–C.6), written after the appearance of the Summa of Stephanus Tornacensis (c.1165/66) and probably before the Summa Parisiensis (1170?). The work repeteadly mentions opinions held by a certain ‘m(agister) ge.’, who may have been the author himself. Fransen has tentatively suggested his identity with Gerardus Pucella.
