Biography/Description

The title given by L. Wahrmund to a procedural treatise, written during the pontificate of Gregory IX (1227–1241). It enjoyed wide distribution and was originally combined from two earlier ordines, Quidam impetrauit litteras (‘Text A’) and Nos petimus (‘Text B’). Kuttner has associated these two with the Anglo-Norman school of canon law and dated them around 1200. Fowler–Magerl has supported the Anglo-Norman affiliation.
