Biography/Description

There seems little reason to doubt that the De majestate principis tractatus (TUI 1584 t. 16), a commentary on the proemium of the Institutes, was first published in 1568 in 'Vallisoliti' (probably Valladolid) by Adrián Ghemart. No copy of that printing seems to be available online, and the Spanish libraries that may have extracts from it online have not updated their version of JavaScript so that it is accessible by modern browsers. There are two men of that name in DBE, but both seem just a bit early for R. who seems to have been alive in 1568. We cannot confirm that he died in 1584, as some library catalogues say, but it is possible that he did.
