Biography/Description

Mattheus was a canon of S. Chrysogono and studied under Johannes Andreae and Guido de Baysio at Bologna, prior to 1304. He later taught law in Rome. His apparatus on the Clementines (c. 1320) is older than that of Johannes Andreae.
