The Thesaurus ventures a date of 1582 for J. on the basis of the publication in Köln of his only known work, De generibus et qualitate feudorum (TUI 1584, t. 10.1), but the work was also published in Napoli in 1565 (WorldCat). The online copies of the Köln edition show that the dedicatory epistle was dated in Napoli, and probably indicate M. was alive in 1565. Of 1582 we can be less sure. |
