Biography/Description

G. was lieutenant-general of Beaumont-le-Vicomte and Fressnay in the county of Maine, sat on the council of Charles d’Albret and of Marguerite de Valois, and was an advocate in, and counselor of the exchequer at, Alençon (dép. Orne), in Normandy. His principal claim to fame is his edition of the coutumes of Normandy and his commentary on the coutume of Maine.
